The United States of America is on a lot of
people’s bucket
list. There are so many different places to visit.
You get the weather that you want; sun or snow. The food is good, and the
shopping is great. A lot of people tend to travel to New York and Florida, and
then they skip everything else and go over to Nevada and California. There is a
lot to do in between, though. Lesser known things but still just as good. Here
are a few of the reasons why you should visit the east coast of the US.
Washington DC
I guess this one is quite obvious; it would be like visiting England and not going to London. There are so many historic and important buildings that you can see and tour. If that is your kind of thing, you can see the White House, the Lincoln Memorial, as well as the Washington Monument and the Liberty Bell. If museums are more of your thing, then there are plenty of those too. The Smithsonian Building is a good place to stop, as well as the National Air Space Museum. The National Museum of Natural History is a fun afternoon trip too. It will be a great place to visit if you’ve got children too.
Georgia
Georgia is often forgotten as a place to visit.
There are plenty of great things to do there, though. One of the best cities to
visit is Atlanta. It was home to the Olympic games back in the 90s. So as well
as the Olympic Park, there are plenty of other places to visit in Atlanta. You could visit the Aquarium and the Martin Luther King National
Historic Site. You can even visit the world of Coca-Cola. It is a museum all
about the soft drink. So if you are a fan, you need to visit.
North Carolina
North Carolina is beautiful and quite a chilled
out area. There are plenty of state parks, hiking routes and gorgeous beaches.
This is a place to visit if you want to relax and get back to nature. There are
some amazing restaurants to visit in North Carolina too. The best part about the state all
is the scenery and relaxed nature, though.
Maine
If you are visiting Maine, you will want to do
so in the summer months. It is right up at the top of the coast, bordering
Canada. Like North Carolina, it is a bit more of a chilled out area. The number
one thing to do there is a walk called Marginal Way. It is a gorgeous walk
along the coast with breathtaking scenery. The Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens
is a fantastic place to visit too. If you are up in this area, it is worth
hopping over to Canada too. You could visit Niagara Falls as it isn’t too far away from there.
Have you ever been away to any of these areas? I’d love to hear what your favourite places were and what you go up to.
